Effective & kid-friendly Elementary Math Resources

Hey Bestie hey!!

My name is Velckis Vallarta and I help elementary teachers make math fun and effective for their kiddos!

I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I spent 7 years in the classroom teaching 2nd and 3rd grade. I fell in love with teaching math because I saw a lot of kids walk into my classroom with such low math esteem and I loved helping them discover the mathematician inside. After I got my first class at a Title 1 school performing as well as the top districts in our state I was like WHATTTT!! I must share my tips and resources with other teachers and that is how Your Teacher Bestie was born.

After becoming pregnant with my second child in 2024, I decided to leave the classroom and focus full-time on creating engaging, standard-aligned math resources that have impacted over 10,000 classrooms.

When I am not creating resources you can find me spending time my little family, cuddling up with my orange cat named Pikachu and reading mystery books paired with a delicious cup of coffee! Yum!

Thank you so much bestie for your continued support and love! Make sure to follow me on social media @yourteacherbestie for more math tips and ideas.
